We're excited to announce that the Litepaper for the DirectEd Lions Collection is finally out! This fantasy collection consists of 2130 pieces of art depicting lion humanoids from the fantasy world of Noli and was created to support our fundraising efforts to finance Access Stipends that will enable students from low-income families to participate in the DirectEd Bootcamp.
The Lion collection is divided into four tiers, each symbolizing varying degrees of support. For each tier, we express our gratitude to our donors in unique ways.
Please follow this link to learn more and don't forget to help spread the word by liking, retweeting, and commenting on our announcement Tweet. We also encourage you to join our newly created Discord where you can meet some of our students and interact with other supporters!
We have secured our first two tech mentorship and internship partners! These partners will take on a team of top graduates from the DirectEd Bootcamp, providing invaluable guidance and support as they work on a real-world project over a 6-month period. Each student will be paired with a dedicated volunteer engineer who will serve as an additional resource and mentor throughout their internship. We are excited to see the impact these internships will have on our students' growth and development.
Discover all there is to know about DirectEd at our donation portal, including the problems we tackle, our solution, associated costs, and expected impact. Additionally, we invite you to check out our newly released video introduction featuring footage from Kagumo High and testimonials from successful graduates of our first coding course.
Donors using Cardano can now donate to our ADA handle $directeddev via the donation portal. For those who wish to donate using credit cards or other cryptocurrencies, we kindly ask for your patience until the fundraising campaign starts on April 21st.
We are thrilled to announce that our Kenya lead, Moses Kahure, has signed an MOU with Mang’u High School, ranked 3rd in the 2020 KCSE examinations and boasting many influential leaders in Kenya as alumni. Through this partnership, 4th form students from Mang’U will participate in our upcoming Introductory Coding course in April.
We are excited to partner with the Web3 User Group e.V., an association committed to providing a safe and fun forum to learn about Web3. This partnership brings over 160 years of combined experience in IT, compliance, and risk management to our organization, and expands our reach to German-speaking countries. To facilitate collaboration, we have set up a joint Discord channel as a hub for community engagement and knowledge sharing.
Our CEO Simon Sällström has been invited to speak on a panel at one of the world's largest blockchain events, NFT.NYC. We are honoured to have him represent our organization on this platform and excited about the opportunities this opens up!
The panel is held on the Legal & Finance stage on Thursday April 13 at 5:20 pm EDT.
We are thrilled to announce that, following a highly successful information session that saw over 120 students and parents from Mang’U High School in attendance, we will be offering a second iteration of our mobile-first Intro to Coding course.
Based on Harvard’s CS50 introduction to computer science, this course provides a fair and inclusive opportunity for students to gain admission to the DirectEd Bootcamp.
