Overview
DirectEd is seeking driven Product Manager trainees who will collaborate with technical teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of projects. Trainees will work closely with Tech Leads and the CTO to break down product requirements, develop timelines, and lead project management efforts while ensuring all milestones are clearly defined and achievable. The ideal candidate will be an organized communicator who can facilitate coordination between teams and clients.
Objectives of this Role
- Collaborate with Tech Leads and the CTO to translate Product Requirement Documents and Technical Specifications into initiatives and projects.
- Divide project work into clear milestones and further subdivide them into manageable sprints.
- Support the team by writing tickets for simple and obvious improvements and issues that need resolution.
- Lead efforts to estimate timelines with the tech team and communicate them effectively to clients, ensuring projects stay on track.
- Lead weekly synchronization meetings to ensure all team members are aligned on progress, blockers, and next steps.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Break down product requirements into initiatives and projects, defining milestones.
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead to estimate the scope of work for each sprint, ensuring a reasonable workload for the developers.
- Create and assign tickets for ongoing improvements and fixes, managing the backlog efficiently.
- Work with the Tech Lead and CTO to set reasonable deadlines and negotiate timelines when necessary.
- Communicate project timelines and expectations to clients, ensuring transparency and managing expectations.
- Lead weekly syncs with the team to review progress, address blockers, and keep the team on schedule.
- Ensure that tech leads focus on technical guidance while providing support in the non-technical aspects of project management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise between technical teams and clients.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
